E3 2015: Dishonored Definitive Edition Coming To 8th Gen

Continuing to prove I was right in the double-whammy Dishonored announcements, Bethesda took time out of their inaugural E3 Showcase to reveal that Dishonored Definitive Edition is, in fact, a reality. Coming to the PS4 and Xbox One, the remaster will be released on August 25th at a reduced price of $39.99 USD, £29.99 and €39.99.

As part of the eight generation version, Dishonored Definitive Edition will come with the base game and all of its bonus content. This includes the Dunwall City Trials, The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches and Void Walker’s Arsenal. Other than those DLC, details on the price, a release date, an oversized logo and the lack of a PC version, there’s not much else to know about the game at this time.

No, what is most compelling about the Dishonored Definitive Edition release date is, well, that there’s one in the first place. Porting over games to a new generation of gaming consoles is not a simple task, and does take quite a bit of time. Arkane Studios remained the developer, meaning it seems like a 3rd-party company didn’t take over the reigns for next-gen. That puts the timing of Dishonored 2 and its subsequent possible release window further back, unless a smaller team was focused on Dishonored Definitive Edition in an efficient manner.
