Things I hope we’ll see at the PC Gaming Show

  • Dean Hall Announces His Next Game

After withdrawing from the DayZ project and leaving Bohemia Interactive at the end of last year, Dean Hall started his own studio named Rocketwerkz. Since then he’s been hiring talent while battling New Zealand’s slow internet speeds. He is listed as a show participant, so all signs point to him making an announcement of sorts.

The hiring process began publicly in December 2014, so there hasn’t been much time to make anything, but that’s certainly enough time to decide on a game. Hall had previously spoken about Unity and mountain climbing in regards to his next game, but that was 2 years ago. A lot has changed since then, so here’s to hoping we’ll get a concrete answer.

  • Age of Empires 4

The beginning of 2015 came with the announcement that Microsoft was assembling a team for a “beloved strategy game”. It’s been 10 years since we saw a proper entry into the Age of Empires series, so it’s long overdue.

The recent HD remake of Age of Empires II shows that Microsoft still sees value in the franchise, and gives me hope that my dreams might just come true.
