Tales From The Borderlands Episode 3 Has A Release Date

Life Is Strange seems to get it right when it comes to releasing their episodic games content on a schedule. Coming roughly every 6 weeks, you don’t feel like you’ve completely forgotten the story of the characters and what motivates your style of play and the actions you commit. That’s why I’m glad to hear via press release that Tales From The Borderlands Episode 3, “Catch A Ride,” will finally be released on the week of June 23rd, although the time off between episodes is deeply concerning.

Telltale Games released the first episode of Tales From The Borderlands on November 25, 2014. The next episode came out 112 days later, on March 17. Now, the gap shrinks ever so slightly, with more than 3 months between releases of Episodes 2 and 3 (98 days, to be exact). Compare that to Game of Thrones, which was first released on December 2nd and is already up to Episode 4 of 6, and you have to realize that certain productions are prioritized differently at Telltale Games.

Whether or not that will be at the detriment of the quality of the series will be up to the audience, with our own impressions of Tales From The Borderlands Episodes 1 and 2 being quite favorable in the early going. Hopefully, with the acquisition of Telltale Games by Lionsgate, the studio will be able to hire more employees to work on their multitude of episodic, graphic adventure games in order to get a more consistent release schedule. Breaking up the flow of a story is the worst thing you can do, and Tales From The Borderlands and its fans deserve better.

The game will be coming out on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and mobile platforms the week of June 23rd, with specific release dates to follow.
