Things I hope we’ll see at the EA briefing

  • New Star Wars Games

We know that new games are on the way, and I’ll be ecstatic if we get to see something at E3. We’ve been waiting far too long for a sequel to 2003’s Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, and EA are well aware that fans are clamoring for a third entry in the KOTOR series. I’d also love to see some new, original ideas.

We already know that BioWare, Visceral Games and DICE are currently developing Star Wars games. If we aren’t getting a new KOTOR, I’d love to see something which bares a resemblance to the Mass Effect series. Of course, it’s entirely possible that BioWare will stick to The Old Republic for now.

Visceral are the minds behind games like Dead Space, and I’d be perfectly happy with a Star Wars game which borrows some of the mechanics from their excellent survival-horror series.

  • Unannounced Sports Titles

EA’s sports division can be described as somewhat of a juggernaut in the industry. They have a regular rotation of yearly titles which continue to sell in huge numbers. Now, I’d like to see them branch out a little further.

Microsoft fans are desperate for EA to give them an alternative to the Sony exclusive – MLB: The Show. EA haven’t released a baseball title since 2007, and it’d be a nice surprise to see them return to their MVP Baseball series.

I’d like to see another FIFA Street, which had a great outing in its latest incarnation back in 2011, but lacked enough features to give it longevity. The question also remains as to whether EA Sports UFC 2 will be featured at the conference as well, as we haven’t heard any news about its release.

  • More Info On Criterion’s Extreme Racer

You’d be forgiven for not being able to remember Criterion’s short video presentation at E3 2014, which gave us a first look at their new project. Criterion are best known as the creators of the Burnout series, and it seems as though they’re looking to take that formula and expand it, by including jet ski’s, helicopters, planes, ATV’s and much more.

EA made it clear to us last year that the game was in the early stages of production so I’m not expecting any imminent announcements, but I’d be happy with another short video in the same vain as last years presentation, showing the team working on the game and the improvements that they’ve made over the last twelve months.

So, there you have it. What do you hope to see out of EA at E3 2015? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
