Rumor: Dark Souls 3 Screenshots, Details Leaked
By Annie Lee
Details and screenshots purporting to show Dark Souls 3 have been leaked to popular YouTube channel, The Know. It was rumoured that Dark Souls 3 may make an appearance at this year’s E3.
According to the video, From Software’s Dark Souls 3 will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2016. The leaked screenshots align with similar visuals of Bloodborne for Playstation 4 and the previous Dark Souls titles. There will be new concepts, such as supporting 1-4 players and choosing your character from 10 different classes.
The video also offers some specific numbers of what Dark Souls 3 will entail:
- 45 new enemies
- 15 new bosses
- 100 new weapons
- 40 new armour sets
- 60 minutes of in-engine cutscenes
- 12 different areas to navigate
Interactions with other players online will also be different. You can participate in “sacrifice ceremonies”, where you drag around a body and choose where to sacrifice them. Doing this will allow you to visit another player’s game. However, participating in these rituals will put a bounty over your head, making you a target to other players.
In addition to these new elements, there are apparently changes in the way the player will face the boss. With a new “heat up” factor of boss battles, the video shows a side-by-side example of an enemy coming at you as a normal knight and as a Bloodborne-like demonic creature.
According to IGN, Dark Souls 3 may possibly be revealed during Sony’s E3 press conference on June 15. You can view the video with the leaked details of Dark Souls 3 below:
Edit: As of now, Dark Souls 3‘s future on the PC is uncertain as its appearance is listed as ‘negotiable’.
