Rocket League Hits PS4 & PC In July, Features Online Cross-Play
By Fraser G.
Psyonix have announced that Rocket League, their much-anticipated car-soccer game, will be available for Playstation 4 and PC on July 7th. Furthermore, one of the standout features is the inclusion of cross-play between both platforms, allowing PS4 and PC players to fight it out in online matches. Rocket League will debut with a price of $19.99 in the US.
The game features an extensive feature list, which were revealed in a new trailer earlier today. Among these are a single player season mode, up to ten billion different combination possibilities within the car customization features, a replay editor, and up to 4 player offline splitscreen support.

In terms of online capabilities, up to 8 players can participate in matches, dedicated gameplay servers will ensure a smooth experience, and the aforementioned cross-platform feature will ensure a hefty list of potential online competitors.
If that wasn’t enough, Playstation players will get an extra bonus with the addition of the playable ice cream truck from Twisted Metal – Sweet Tooth.
The game has recently been through a number of public beta’s, which were extremely well received. Rocket League is Psyonix’s sequel to 2008’s SARPBC, another game which focused on a mix of soccer and battle cars, and emerged as a cult hit.
Rocket League appears to improve on the original in every way, and if the game can live up the hype, it could be something special.
