Nintendo @ E3 2015: Bring On The World Championships!

In the rather humorous video above, we see Nintendo lay out their plans for their presence at E3 this year.

Much like last year, there will be a Digital Event announcing Nintendo’s lineup of games to come. There will be an expanded version of last year’s Treehouse Live featuring more interviews and a larger variety of games on the show floor of E3. In addition, players will be able to play upcoming game Mario Maker at Best Buy later that week of E3 2015.

So what is so new to the Nintendo show this year? The return of the Nintendo World Championships. Obviously, Nintendo will have to outline how this past tournament of games will be taking place in 2015, but for those uninitiated, Nintendo held a competition in 1990 across 29 cities in the United States. The Nintendo World Championships brought players together to play each other in a series of games: Super Mario Bros., Rad Racer, and Tetris.

I was all of 1 years old when this competition took place, so I will be interested to see moving forward what Nintendo does with this competition in the modern internet age.

The Nintendo World Championship is scheduled now for Sunday, June 14, 2015. Nintendo’s Digital Event for E3 2015 will take place Tuesday, June 16 at 9 AM PT. Treehouse Live will be taking place after doors open for E3 on the showroom floor.

So what do you all think of Nintendo’s E3 announcement? Are you interested to see what they bring out on the floor?
