Project CARS is almost upon us, and the team at Slightly Mad Studios have published the official launch trailer which shows off the extensive feature list and gorgeous graphics.

In addition to this, the team have also listed a number of key aspects of the game on their website. Among these, they mention 110+ unique track locations, 60 fps graphics with up to 45 drivers onscreen, the inclusion of a wide variety of Motorsports such as GT, Touring and Karts, and even support for virtual reality devices, through Project Morpheus and Oculus Rift.

The music in the game has also received special treatment, as Deadmau5 has provided a portion of the soundtrack. In fact, the team have created a playlist on Spotify which contains the soundtrack of the game, for those who are eager to hear the selection of tracks before the game makes its official debut.

After a storied development period, Project CARS is finally ready to make its impact on the gaming world. It launches for Xbox One, PS4 and PC on May 7th for those in Europe and Australia, and reaches the US last – on May 12th.

The game is looking great, the graphics are beautiful, and it is clear that a huge amount of love and passion has been put into the development of this game over the last few years. The sheer amount of possibilities available to the player, from basic but detailed options (such as weather) to the inclusion of delicate tuning options for each car, each track and each race, are a racing fan’s dream.

It has seen numerous delays in recent months as the team looked to fix the final few details, but I can’t wait to see how it performs when we finally get our hands on it. Could we see a new contender to the throne in the racing game genre? We will find out in the next few days.
