Jason Voorhees Hits Mortal Kombat X Tomorrow

facebooktwitterreddit

When it was first announced that Jason Voorhees would be joining the Mortal Kombat X roster, it was in tandem with the announcement about the game’s Kombat Pack. He would be joining 3 other characters, including the Predator, in a $30 bonus pack that also comes with character skins. Now that people have gotten adequate time with vanilla Mortal Kombat X, some of those extra characters will be making their way to the roster soon. Jason will be the first, and his recent trailer shows off some of his more brutal moves.

The machete-wielding masked terror will be coming to Kombat Pack users tomorrow, while offering up several price points as a standalone download for those who are adverse to Warner Bros.’ microtransaction and Season Pass schemes starting next week. On May 12th, Jason will be available to regular Mortal Kombat X players at the price of $4.99. If you decide you like playing as him, you can then picked up alternate character skins for $3.99. However, getting both of them together will cost $7.99.

Jason is not the first guest character to join a game in the Mortal Kombat series, even if he is the first for Mortal Kombat X. His archrival, Freddy Krueger, made an appearance in the last Mortal Kombat game. So, too, did Kratos from the God of War series. All other unofficial characters to play in a Mortal Kombat game come from Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe, where characters like Batman, Superman, The Flash and Captain Marvel faced off against the best of the Mortal Kombat series.
