Marvel & Telltale Games are teaming up to make an as yet unannounced Marvel licensed game series for consoles & PC due for release sometime in 2017.

Telltale Games released this rather vague statement about the matter:

"Announced this evening in San Francisco, we’re excited to reveal an all-new partnership with the incredible team at Marvel Entertainment. We’ll be teaming up on the development of an upcoming Telltale game series project set to premiere in 2017."

Now, Telltale Games is a highly acclaimed developer with a long history of making great games based off of licenses such as Walking Dead, Borderlands & Game of Thrones. I have no doubt they’ll be able to craft a compelling story within the Marvel Universe. That being said, I hope whatever license Telltale Games ends up working on is something better suited to their style of game, which their are certainly plenty of Marvel licenses to choose from that will. I’m basically saying I don’t want to see Telltale Games’ take on Age of Ultron, that might be kind of boring. But something a little more cerebral would be perfect. Granted no matter what, we will have to wait a bit, but hopefully we’ll at least know what Marvel license Telltale Games is working on soon.
