While confirming that the game is scheduled for release on November 17th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, they have also noted that the game will include frenzied shootout battles of up to 40 players. Some of the locations in the game include the snow planet of Hoth, Sullust – a planet which was referenced but never seen in Return Of The Jedi, and the sandy planet of Tatooine.
As well as ground troops, the game will feature the ability to utilize characters such as Darth Vader and Boba Fett, and will allow players to control a range of different vehicles, including AT-AT’s, X-Wings and Tie Fighters.
A free downloadable level will also be released, two weeks before The Force Awakens hits movie screens across the world. This level will be called the “Battle Of Jakku”, a location which will have a small feature in the film, but will be explored in more depth in the game.
This information is very likely to be the focus of today’s reveal in Anaheim, but I would hope for a good amount of gameplay footage as well, so we can see these features in action. Based on this information, this has all the potential to be the best Star Wars game to date, I just hope DICE can pull it off.
