New Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer May Hint At Battlefront

Unless you’ve been living under a digital rock the past few hours, the latest teaser trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens has hit, and subsequently broke, the internet today. It’s the biggest peak into the new-look Star Wars universe yet, and with any new film content, Star Wars: Battlefront speculation is soon to follow. That’s right, some of these new characters, set pieces and logo may reflect the upcoming video games coming out of Electronic Arts.

As you can see from the above screenshot taken from the newest Force Awakens trailer, X-Wings (one of which is flown by Poe Dameron) are shown flying very close to water levels, zipping around an unknown location with dense forestry and a beautiful lake underneath. Later, we see the two other Force Awakens leads Finn and Rey, plus BB-8, running from incoming Tie-Fighter cannon fire on the desert planet of Jakku. After, footage shows the new Sith force user in an unknown hellscape, with regular citizens being warded off by the new-look stormtroopers. You can also see them in the featured image above, in front of what looks to be the new logo for the Empire.

The intensity of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer ramps up, as we see a Tie Fighter blow up what appears to be an Empire facility, with a tease at John Boyega’s character in his stormtrooper outfit. Things only get more intriguing from here, as we get to see new ships fly toward what appears to be a Star Destroyer. The trailer then cuts to a chromatic-looking stormtrooper, looking badass in comparison to his white-armored counterparts. The rest is similar to what we’ve seen, with the exception of the Millenium Falcon racing away from Tie-Fighters in an abandoned, grounded Star Destroyer from the original trilogy.

Not only can all these vehicles, characters and settings be possibly included in the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront game, but at the end of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer you can see a 10-second clip of Endor footage being teased in an annotation. For those looking for a bigger look into the future of Star Wars video games, you will have to wait and see tomorrow at 1:30 PM Eastern, as EA will be showing off more Star Wars: Battlefront footage at the Star Wars Celebration event, currently going on in Anaheim. We’ll be back tomorrow to share more exciting Star Wars news.
