Call of Duty: Black Ops III Release Is Officially Teased
UPDATE: Just 2 hours after the initial tease reveal, the Activision Twitter account has already confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be released later this year. The world reveal is still on schedule, though, even if we now officially know what game is to be announced. Great!
ORIGINAL: We can pretend the context isn’t there, or that the newest Call of Duty game being teased won’t be Call of Duty: Black Ops III. Just check out the above teaser trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty game for yourself and see/hear all of the clues for yourself.

If you’re unfamiliar with the series (it’s been a while for me, myself), let’s go through what we know. Posted on one of the top Youtube channels dedicated to Call of Duty video game clips, a bunch of numbers and letters are posted sporadically over a silhouette of a hunched-over man. The biggest first clue towards this being Call of Duty: Black Ops III is in the audio clips. “The numbers, Mason. What do they mean?” is a quote from the original Black Ops game, infamously spoken by Ed Harris’ character. “Everything you know is wrong” was a tagline in the reveal of Call of Duty: Black Ops, as well. Finally, the above image is fairly reminiscent of the standard “Black Ops” game pack cover.
I mean, it’s Treyarch’s turn, after all. Call of Duty: Ghosts was released by Infinity Ward, while Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare was the debut from Sledgehammer Games. Also, with the “#backinblack” hashtag in effect, all signs are pointing towards this being Call of Duty: Black Ops III.
Still, “guesses” is all we will get. Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be officially revealed to the world on April 26th, even though everyone familiar with the series knows that what game we’re talking about, here. What platforms it will be released on, however, is definitely worth finding out. Could this be the year Activision says farewell to last-gen? Now that would be a pleasant, actual surprise!
