Nintendo Direct Not An April Fool’s Joke After All

facebooktwitterreddit

Rumors have been buzzing on Twitter since yesterday about a possible Nintendo Direct on April 1st, but most were able to write it off as a joke. Fortunately and surprisingly though, the rumors were true. Nintendo has confirmed a Direct for tomorrow, April 1st, at 3PM PST/6pm EST. From the website:

"Catch a new Nintendo Direct on April 1 at 3 p.m. PT for the latest on upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS games. Stick around after the Direct for a live Nintendo Treehouse presentation featuring one of our spring releases. Don’t let the date fool you:This Nintendo Direct is no joke!"

There are a lot of high hopes riding on this Direct. Fortunately, Nintendo already got out the news that Legend of Zelda for Wii U has been delayed, so this Direct should be all positives. We’ll likely see an official Splatoon release date, and perhaps another wave of amiibo make its appearance. We’re also waiting on release dates for Xenoblade Chronicles X in the west, and Star Fox Wii U.

Other than that, since Nintendo has nothing big in their line-up for the second half of the year, they’ll likely announce something. Plenty of people are hoping for a new Metroid game, or perhaps the next Animal Crossing, or something totally unexpected to look forward to over the holidays and boost the sales of the Wii U even further.

Whatever it is that Nintendo comes up with, we’ll be covering it here, so check back tomorrow to GameSided for the latest!
