Halo 5: Guardians Has An October Release Date

facebooktwitterreddit

As confirmed during a commercial break for AMC’s The Walking Dead, Halo 5: Guardians has a release date. It is scheduled to be released, exclusively on the Xbox One, on October 27th. The live-action teaser for Halo 5: Guardians is also live on Youtube, sporting the hashtag #HuntTheTruth.

The trailer is very vague in its machinations, but it appears as though Master Chief has caused a great deal of chaos throughout the universe. It is Jameson Locke (Halo: Nightfall show, Halo: Master Chief Collection) that reminds us that Master Chief will be remembered as the protector and a savior, not as the bearer of death and destruction. Locke is convinced that it is up to him to stop Master Chief from himself, as Locke menacingly approaches him with pistol drawn.

Update: It appears as though there are two versions of every story, as Microsoft has released yet another trailer during tonight’s Season 5 finale of AMC’s The Walking Dead. This one depicts the tables turned in Master Chief’s favor, as he comes across a broken-down Locke in front of the same statue. The gun is now drawn by Master Chief, aiming at Locke, as it appears to be him to bring and end to Locke’s injustices.

As great as the multiplayer aspects of the Halo series have been, it’s great to see that Halo 5: Guardians will still keep up the marketing tradition of focus on the game’s campaign. Although it’s no gameplay reveal trailer like we’ve seen done before to perfection, the mystery behind “The Truth” shows promise that both Microsoft and 343 Industries will be taking Halo 5 very seriously. Much more so than they did the Halo Master Chief Collection that they promoted at the end of the commercial, which took months before things were operating even close to ideal.
