Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.1 Goes Live Next Week

World of Warcraft’s latest expansion, Warlords of Draenor, has been out for about three months now. Two raids have been opened and (almost) fully conquered. Which means it’s about time for Blizzard to roll out another patch: Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.1 will go live next week, on February 24th.

The patch is an interesting one–normally we expect a new raid or new areas out of a “big” patch, but Blizzard’s been awfully quiet about what story items, if any, people can expect to see as patch 6.1 progresses. They added two raids at staggered times during 6.0, but no word on any new raids yet for this one.

Instead, expect to find a lot of new and interesting features. There’s colorblind support, to help colorblind players better distinguish health bars, enemies, and other nuances of the game. A new heirloom system allows players to keep track of their heirloom items from character to character without having to mail them back and forth constantly. Blood Elves will be receiving new, polished character models to go along with the other new models that were released with 6.0, and a new function allows people to Tweet screenshots from in-game.

Along with these features, expect more difficult garrison missions, new garrison followers, better equipment, world bosses summonable in your garrison, better crafted items, tweaks to professions, and much more. You can check out the full line-up of specifics on the Battle.net website, look at the full list of patch notes, or download the PTR to test them out for yourself before they go live.
