(Updated) PS4 Update 2.01 Out Now, Fixing 2.00
UPDATE: It appears as though the PS4 Update 2.01 is now live, and has fixed users’ problems with rest mode. It will roll out in different regions throughout the day.
ORIGINAL: Remember when PS4 firmware patch 2.00 dropped last week, resulting in breaking as many things as it added to the OS? Sony and PlayStation are well aware of the problems facing Rest Mode and other bugs, and are letting people know that PS4 update 2.01 is coming soon.

The scope of what PS4 update 2.01 will cover, when it comes to bug squashing, is unknown at this time. However, with PlayStation name-dropping Rest Mode in their official tweet, it’s clear that will at least be the focus of the stability patch.
When it comes to improving and maintaining OS support, the Xbox One has been outshining the PS4 throughout its first full year. With monthly updates that will look to push well into 2015, Sony’s approach counter-actively seems to branch away from their PS3 firmware-updating past. It left a lot of people (myself included) got tired of the constant lengthy updates, so the “big updates every few months” approach may have to suffice. It’s not like the PS4 is hurting for sales these days.
