Assassin’s Creed Unity Trailer Shows Co-op Gameplay
Hey reader, remember the combat mechanics that you’ve come to expect from the Assassin’s Creed series since its first title 7 years ago? Now, in Assassin’s Creed Unity, it’s fairly different now because you can fight with up to three of your buddies at the same time during the regular campaign. Ubisoft showed off a co-op gameplay trailer today highlighting just that experience itself.co-op gameplay trailer today highlighting just that experience itself.

As you can see, giving other assassins weapons that aren’t the wrist blades (including an axe and a javelin) totally changes the way combat, urban traversal and general gameplay works in Assassin’s Creed Unity than what has been in its previous games each year. Plus, your friends can help pick you up if you get downed by an enemy, as pressing the counter button repeatedly to prepare a parry attack against foes has typically been a challenging problem within the series.
In all seriousness, Ubisoft seems to be dropping the ball when it comes to convincing its fans that Assassin’s Creed Unity brings something new to combat in any way other than “adding more playable characters.” It’s a neat feature that probably took a lot of time to prioritize over the hours it would likely take to include a playable female assassin, but with an Assassin’s Creed game coming out at least once a year (sometimes even two), there has to be enough info out there in order to stave off the feeling of series homogenization.
Assassin’s Creed Unity will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 11th.
