PlayStation Anniversary Sale Sees PS4, PS3, Vita and PSP Discounts
While it’s not the re-opening of the PlayStation Anniversary version of the PS4, the announced PlayStation Anniversary Sale will feature an accessible amount of deals for those who own a PS4, PS3, PS Vita or even a PSP. As announced on the PlayStation Blog, Sony will celebrate their 20th year with the PlayStation brand with discounts on more than 60 games, with additional savings to those who are currently subscribed to PlayStation Plus.

While it’s difficult to complain about savings, it is rather unfortunate for Sony that they cannot offer nearly as many discounts for their PS4 offerings as they can for most other platforms. Sales on just five separate games, as deep as the savings are, is confusing when Sony has released a great deal more titles on the platform than they’re letting on. Yes, sales are down in the months post-Christmas and holidays, but with the Xbox One doing their share this past Christmas and the Wii U opening up digital discounts on Wii titles directly on the Wii U, it just seems odd.
However, with the PS4 holding a commanding lead in the 8th generation market share, perhaps they don’t need to provide a wide variety as one might hope.
