Resident Evil HD Remaster Releasing Digitally In January
When talk of a Resident Evil HD Remaster was being set to be released in Early 2015, Capcom truly meant early 2015. Today, they have announced that the game will be released digitally across the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 on January 20th, 2015. The best part? It will be launched at just $19.99.

That’s the same price range that Resident Evil 4 Ultimate HD Edition launched at in February this year, albeit a much-shorter-overall title with several different campaign scenarios. Nevertheless, with a shallow January release schedule, it gives the opportunity for a new generation of fans to experience what Resident Evil truly means to a more seasoned gaming generation, such as mine and older.
We don’t know yet all the details between each version, however we do know that next-gen consoles and PC will output at 1080p, while the PC will provide framerate options. The promotional video linked in bold below shows an early scene from Resident Evil running at 1080p/60 FPS. (Capcom has applied an age gate: graphic content warning included) The remaster will also add a Very Easy Mode for novice players who aren’t used to survival horror Resident Evil games, but are used to action-horror RE games. Finally, you can also choose to switch between 4:3/16:9 contrast ratios or the classic “tank controls” scheme vs. a more contemporary analog stick-guided scheme.
