Majora’s Mask 3D for the 3DS is coming soon, but it won’t be a quick and dirty port. Aside from a graphical makeover, Majora’s Mask 3D will have some changes to gameplay as well, according to series producer Eiji Aonuma.

More from 3DS

While Aonuma stressed that Majora’s Mask 3D won’t be made easier, he did say the 3DS remake will do a better job of explaining things, like prompting players with hints if they get stuck.

"Challenges which you realize by repeating many times are made easier to understand"

Aonuma also said one boss fight will be changed in Majora’s Mask 3D, but didn’t say which one. Additionally, it will feature a second fishing hold, and gyro controls as seen in Ocarina of Time 3D

Aonuma also teased that Majora’s Mask 3D will take advantage of the New 3DS hardware Nintendo has coming out, but was very vague, only saying “Please wait for the opportunity to discuss how playing on the New 3DS differs at a later date.”

Majora’s Mask 3D is due out on the 3DS in Spring of next year. Nintendo still has not announced a US release for the New 3DS, but I wouldn’t be completely surprised if it launches alongside this game.
