Nintendo Direct: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Trailer
By Erik Sugay
Other than The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask remake finally being announced for the 3DS, this Nintendo Direct was fairly underwhelming. Nintendo did provide a new trailer for Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, though. And we all know that’s going to be awesome.

The game is going to feature more than 70 stages and the trailer compiles brief highlights of 70 of them. To make the puzzle-like nature of Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker a bit more replayable, the game will also feature level-specific challenges like slipping past or defeating certain enemies or collecting particular items. Completing challenges unlocks more content, but what that content is wasn’t specified.
Also, at some point next year, the game will receive Amiibo support. No further details regarding the implementation of Nintendo’s upcoming line of toys with this game have yet been provided.
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker releases for Wii U on Dec. 5 in stores and on the Nintendo eShop. That’s this year, by the way; ignore the date in the trailer.
