The Crew PC Requirements Announced By Ubisoft

We’re about a month away from the delayed release of The Crew. As Ubisoft ramps up excitement for the open world racing game, they also want to inform people so they can better evaluate the scope of their gaming project. As such, the Ubisoft Blog posted today what PC parts you will need to satisfy The Crew PC requirements at minimum, recommended and optimal.

The Crew PC Requirements: Minimum

  • Supported OS
    Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8/8.1 (64bit)
  • Processor
    Intel Core2 Quad Q9300 @ 2.5 GHz or AMD Athlon II X4 620 @ 2.6 GHz (or better)
  • RAM
    4GB
  • Video Card
NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 or AMD Radeon HD4870 (512MB VRAM with Shader Model 4.0 or higher)

The Crew PC Requirements: Recommended

  • Supported OS
    Windows 8/8.1 (64bit)
  • Processor
    Intel Core i5-750 @ 2.66 GHz or AMD Phenom II X4 940 @ 3.0 GHz (or better)
  • RAM
    8GB
  • Video Card
NVIDIA GeForce GTX580 or AMD Radeon 6870 (1024MB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or higher)

The Crew PC Requirements: Optimal

  • Supported OS
    Windows 8/8.1 (64bit)
  • Processor
    Intel Core i7-2600K @ 3.4 GHz or AMD FX-8150 @ 3.6 GHz (or better)
  • RAM
    8GB
  • Video Card
NVIDIA GeForce GTX670 or AMD Radeon 7870 (2048MB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0 or higher)

What’s interesting of note is that no matter what level of The Crew PC requirements you hit, the game will only support 64-bit operating systems. If you’re running anything at 32-bit, Ubisoft will not support The Crew gameplay to it. Furthermore, Ubisoft acknowledges the possibility of laptop-equivalent specs may work, however they “have not been exhaustively tested.”

More from News

After trying out The Crew at Fan Expo Canada earlier in the year, I was intrigued about just how open the world was in comparison to other racing games available on the show floor. I did note the apparent jaggies while looking up-close at the PS4 version. Hopefully, maxing out the graphics of the PC version at the GTX 670 video card level, plus intuitive anti-aliasing options that usually come on PC versions of games these days, will enhance the visual fidelity of the game.

The Crew will hit the PC, PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on December 2nd.
