The Red Bull Battlegrounds series comes to a close today with the Washington, D.C. Grand Final. Months of StarCraft II competitive play, from all over North America and online qualifiers around the globe comes to a head, as the final 4 players left standing take each other on in the semifinals and finals. PartinG and sOs, who made it into this year’s DC matchup due to their performance last year, have already been eliminated, as well as Scarlett and DongRaeGu. Today’s conclusion of StarCraft II play boils down to Bomber vs. Polt and Trap vs. Cure.

The winners of these matches will go on to the finals and give it all they’ve got for the main piece of the $50,000 Grand Final prize that Red Bull Battlegrounds DC provides. Additionally, 1st place earns 750 World Championship of StarCraft (WCS) points, while 2nd place earns 500 and 3rd and 4th earn 375 WCS points each. The more points earned, the better chance they will have to qualify for the WCS Global Finals, with the ultimate goal of being the 2014 Global StarCraft II Champion.

Day[9] will continue to serve as Red Bull Battlegrounds DC Grand Final host, with rotating event commentary duties also falling under the patronage of Rotterdam, ToD and Nathanias, while Axeltoss will be conducting interviews. After yesterday’s thrilling matches, today will surely be an event to remember.
