Here’s 23 Minutes Of That New Sherlock Holmes Game
Remember hearing about that cross-gen Sherlock Holmes game some time ago, in which you take on several cases as the famed detective team and have the possibility of getting the case wrong? It’s called
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments,
and the publishers at Focus Home Interactive have released a
in order to illustrate just exactly what the game is all about. The video contains no overarching story spoilers (outside of investigating the beginning of a case), so don’t be afraid to give it a look if that is your concern.

Something that strikes me as interesting as the gameplay aspect of the video is that what you wear on a case has an actual impact on getting clues. Depending on your locale, fitting in with the right attire will allow you to blend in with and communicate more freely with the subjects in the area. Minor details are of absolute importance to the detective, as by glancing at differences in appearance while questioning a witness can provide vital information required to deduct a formal charge at the end of every case.
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments looks to bring the true adventure game tenets with it for possibly the first time on the PS4 and Xbox One, allowing players to search the scene of a crime using first and third person views (changeable at the press of a button) in order to move along the investigation. Finally, it all depends on whether or not you find or miss clues that allow you to progress to a logical conclusion on a case to condemn or absolve a guilty party, as there are roughly 9 separate endings for each case that provide benefits and consequences to Sherlock Holmes, depending on whether or not he got it right.
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments will be released on the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 2.
