The Last Of Us To Hit The Stage, For Some Reason

I have reached peak capacity for all things The Last of Us, but Sony powers on ahead of the remastered version of the game hitting the PS4. The PlayStation Blog today revealed that principle cast of The Last of Us will take the stage for a special one-night-only performance, titled “One Night Live.”

More from News

Next Monday, July 28th, the main cast from what many consider to be one of 2013’s best games will appear live on the Broad Stage in Santa Monica, California to perform live readings of select scenes under the direction of The Last of Us writer and director Neil Druckmann. Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, Merle Dandridge, Hana Hayes, and Annie Wersching are scheduled to perform that night, which will including live performances of the game’s score from Academy Award winning composer Gustavo Santaolaila. The PlayStation Facebook page will tell you how to register for a select amount of free tickets that are available, while the event will be broadcast live on PlayStation’s Youtube and Twitch channels, plus through PSN.

While it does serve as a cute way of promoting The Last of Us: Remastered just before sales go live for Tuesday, July 29th, I’m getting tired of the endless parading of this game from Sony. Yes, on PS3 it was a quality title in the console’s last year of top-level PlayStation performance, but the PS4 needs to build from new experiences, not as a Remaster machine. With Driveclub acting as the PS4’s sole remaining exclusive for the rest of the year, I guess Sony has to market the hell out of what they’ve got. It’s still year 1 for the PS4, but it still feels like year 8 for the PS3.

The Last of Us: Remastered will be released exclusively on the PS4 on July 29th.
