Yokai Watch Coming To The US In 2015

Haven’t heard of Yokai Watch yet? Come next year, you probably will, as it’s the latest huge franchise in Japan, starting as a game but spawning a TV show and a movie due to its popularity. It may very well be the next Pokemon (and it’s essentially Pokemon with ghosts) and it’s coming stateside in 2015.

Level-5 president and CEO Akihiro Hino thinks Yokai Watch has “big appeal” and spoke about bringing the title to the West.

"In regards too foreign markets, we have been taking a look at it in regards to Yokai Watch. We are in development planning to release it sometime next year.We think it has a big appeal as a very Japanese-ish fantasy story. We already have support from a foreign toy maker company saying that it will be a definite success."

Well I’m not a huge fan of Pokemon or Pokemon-style games, but I a a huge fan of Level 5’s work so I’ll certainly at leas be interested in checking out Yokai Watch when it comes here next year.
