Free On-Demand Weekend For Guitar Hero Live’s GHTV
By Fraser G.
Guitar Hero Live’s GHTV mode is getting a free weekend of on-demand content beginning at 12PM this Friday, 6th November. Players who login to the game will benefit from the ability to play any of the 200+ GHTV songs on-demand throughout the allocated time period.
That’s not all, as Activision have announced that GHTV will benefit from over 70 song additions before the end of the year, beginning with a hefty set of tunes this week across three Premium Shows.

Firstly, there’s the Black Veil Brides Premium Show, which includes three playable songs from the band’s 2014 concert in Los Angeles as featured on the “Alive and Burning” DVD.
Then, there’s the Legendary Headliners Premium Show, which includes new tracks by Paramore (Monster), Fall Out Boy (Sugar, We’re Goin Down) and Blink-182 (First Date). Finally, the Pop Goes GHTV Premium Show features tracks by The 1975 (Chocolate), American Authors (Believer) and George Ezra (Budapest).
Activision have confirmed that the majority of new additions to GHTV will arrive via Premium Shows, which can be accessed by completing in-game challenges. These tracks will eventually make their way to the regular channel rotation, but no indication has been given of how long this might take.
GHTV is proving to be a smart addition to the series which has allowed Guitar Hero Live to compete with Rock Band 4’s extensive back catalog. I’m intrigued as to how far the service will have grown in a year’s time, and whether it will resonate with potential buyers.
