Borderlands Joining The Remaster Train On PS4, Xbox One

In this, the fallout month from the holiday season, games releases are fairly light at the moment. That won’t stop the news from coming hot and fast, however, as it is noted by Game Informer that both Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! will be ported to 8th generation consoles on March 24th. It will be titled Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, and will retail for $59.99.

Because of course 2K Games wants people to double dip on these next-gen Borderlands games, those who own Borderlands 2 on PS3, Xbox 360 and PS Vita can transfer character progress and their rank forward within their respective console families. Same goes for all applicable Pre-Sequel platforms. It’s only the fair thing to do, as the collection will feature most of the current DLC for both games, as well future season pass content for the Pre-Sequel. Great show of faith for those who bought the game recently on PS3 and Xbox 360.

As much as remasters and ports get their fair share of hate, there are substantial improvements coming to the Borderlands collection of games. 4-player split screen will make its series debut. 1080p resolution and up to 60 FPS single player action (30 FPS target on split screen) for both games. Plus, it comes with one of the more ridiculous Collector’s Edition packages, featuring a steelbook case, 12 lithographs and a remote-controlled Claptrap. That’s right, the “hilarity” of Claptrap available in your home for the totally reasonable cost of $400. Somehow, 2K expects to move 5,000 of those bad boys.
