Steam Holiday Sale 2014 Coming Next Week
It appears as though the Steam Holiday Sale for 2014 has been confirmed, and it is through the unlikeliest of sources; PayPal Japan. A Reddit user had received an email from the service, with a “12/18” all but confirming its launch date. Of course, Eurogamer took it a step further and are now able to confirm the official launch of the sale at that date.

Coming so close off the Steam Exploration Sale, it will be interesting to see how the Steam Holiday Sale 2014 will compare to last year’s. Just a few weeks ago, we had missed out on significant sales from strong titles like Shovel Knight and This War of Mine, so hopefully this year’s Valve-run event will bring good tidings in addition to deep savings.
More details will emerge the closer we get to the beginning of Steam Holiday Sale 2014, but my #1 wish is that it will not include that silly team-based purchasing drive like it did last year. Seeing how well it did to drive sales in reward for the very few to get games on their wishlist, I’d be surprised if something of that nature isn’t showing up to this year’s event.
