Don’t Hold Your Breath For Blood Dragon 2
Far Cry 3 was a great game. But arguably the best thing to come out of Far Cry 3 was the hilariously over the top omage to cheesy low budget sci fi and action films of the 80s, the expansion Blood Dragon, which was also sold as a separate release. Surely with the highly commercial and critical success of both Far Cry 3 and Blood Dragon, a sequel tied to the upcoming Far Cry 4 is in the works, right?

Unfortunately, Ubisoft does not currently have any plans to make a follow up to Blood Dragon. Ubisoft Montreal creative director Alex Hutchinson had this to say:
"That’s was what was cool about [Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon], it was surprising. It was a great use of the Far Cry 3 base, and had an awesome soundtrack. But no, you won’t get another one of those. But hopefully we’ll be able to surprise you with something just as much."
Hutchinson’s suggestion of something in the works is so far just that, a suggestion. This doesn’t completely kill the chances for further adventures of Sergeant Rex “Power” Colt, but it seems unlikely that we’ll be getting a direct follow up to Blood Dragon anytime in the near future.
