The Walking Dead On PS4, Xbox One Get Release Dates
Just in time for Halloween, and just right after the debut episode of The Walking Dead TV show’s fifth season, Telltale Games has announced the release dates for their graphic adventure game series’ PS4 and Xbox One ports. Season 1, which also includes the 400 Days DLC, will be released in North America on October 14th. Furthermore, The Walking Dead Season 2 will see its release the following week on October 21st alongside the PS3 and Xbox 360 physical release. PS Vita owners will finally get their hands on a full-Season-2 release on November 4th.

As someone who has played through the PC version of Episodes 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Season 2, it will be interesting to see how the console ports for the newer-generation consoles will handle running The Walking Dead. All console adaptations so far have fairly noticeable load times, which really slow down the pacing of the story. Furthermore, they are prone to glitching out on PS3 and Xbox 360. The main reason why they are still some players’ main modes of play is because of the PC save file issues that plagued Season 1. Hopefully, these issues do not make it over to the newer console adaptations.
In addition to The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us PS4 and Xbox One releases, Telltale Games is also working on Tales From The Borderlands and Game of Thrones episodic adventures. The current projection is to see Episodes 1 of each release before the end of 2014.
