Saturday Morning News Round-up: PAX Prime Edition
Hey everybody, hope you’re having a good nerdy Labor Day weekend, be it playing games, being at the PAX Prime in Seattle or Dragon Con down in Atlanta. In addition to all the breaking Nintendo news yesterday, a lot more stuff was announced so here’s the skinny on several news items to chew on for the weekend:

Formerly an Xbox One exclusive, Peggle 2 is coming to the PS4 on October 14th. From all accounts it’s an awesome game, but I do question releasing it in the still very crowded month of October when there are still a ton of AAA games coming out. Might’ve been better to release it in say December when people might have shiny new PS4s under their tree and are looking for a fun downloadable game to try out.
Saints Row 4 is coming to PS4 & Xbox One as Saints Row: Re-Elected on January 27th for the pretty reasonable price of $29.99 and will include all previous dlc along with the usual graphical bump you see in remasters. Also releasing that same day for PS4, Xbox One, PS3 & Xbox 360 is the a Saints Row 2-player co-op stand alone expansion called Gat Out of Hell that will be $20. Here’s a story synopsis:
"Johnny Gat and Kinzie Kensington embark on a quest to save The President/God Emperor of the Universe from Hell’s infernal city of New Hades. After teaming up with former enemy Dane Vogel, they learn The Boss is going to be forced to marry Satan’s daughter! The Saints must conquer the demon-infested city and save their friend before it is too late"
And you can check out the trailer below:
Metal Slug 3,”The most highly revered title in the Metal Slug series”, according to SNK Playmore, and because of that, it is getting a release on PlayStation platforms this Winter. SNK Playmore’s Adam Laatz said there will be online features (but didn’t go into specifics) and that SNK Playmore will be “aiming for some of the highest-level quality NeoGeo emulation seen on PSN yet,”.
Want to see your first wave of Amiibo figures? Here you go:
The MSRP for these figures is $12.99, no official release date beyond 2014. You can, however already pre-order them on Amazon.
Finally, I’m getting really excited about Shadow of Mordor, which hits in about a month. Here’s the latest trailer featuring an Uruk called Ratbag, who will be key to the story:
