Link, F-Zero and Animal Crossing Coming To Mario Kart 8

I’ve thought it’s always been really odd that Nintendo was willing to do all this massive fan service forSmash Bros.with including different characters from their varied franchises, but none in their other multi-player party titles. Why noZeldacharacters inMario TennisorMario Party?

Well now they are rectifying that somewhat in one of their most popular franchises,Mario Kart.Mario Kart 8is getting two dlc packs in the near future that will include characters and cars from some favorite franchises.

The first pack coming out in November, will feature the addition of Link, 4 new vehicles (one of which is the Blue Falcon from the F-Zero series) & 8 new tracks along with cat-suit Peach and tanooki-suit Mario.

The second pack comes out in May of next year and will have your peppy assistant fromAnimal Crossing: New Leaf, Isabelle. It will also have four vehicles and eight tracks along with the skeletal Dry Bowser.

"“Each Add On Content pack will contain two new cups, each with four courses, which, in total, increases the number of available courses by 50 percent,” the site reads. “The Add On Content packs include classics like Wario’s Gold Mine from Mario Kart Wii, as well as new courses, some taking place in the worlds of The Legend of Zelda and Animal Crossing. New vehicles will also arrive with each pack, including the Blue Falcon kart representing the F-Zero franchise in the first AOC pack.”"

In addition, if you buy both dlc packs forMario Kart 8you will get 8 new colors for Yoshi & Shy Guy. Pre-ordering the dlc will get you immediate access to these colors.

This seems like a pretty awesome way to giveMario Kart 8some legs this holiday season and beyond. I would have no problem with further dlc packs if they have cool content like this.
