SPOILER WARNING: The following trailer spoils the events of almost every The Walking Dead episode released to date, including all those in The Walking Dead Season 2. Watch at your own risk.

If you ever doubted Telltale Games and their ability to tell a gut-wrenching, depressing story, the above trailer for The Walking Dead Season 2 should absolutely do the trick. Not only do we get to see a glimpse of the future for Clementine, but look back at the past that brought her to where she is today, while including a completely new scene that details the days before the zombie outbreak.

Most importantly, the description for the trailer includes the final episode’s release date for The Walking Dead Season 2. On August 26th, the final chapter of this season will be released on the PS3 and PS Vita within North America, plus on PC and Mac. August 27th see the Xbox 360 release, as well as the PS3 and PS Vita releases in Europe. Finally, on August 28th the game will see an epic conclusion come to mobile platforms on the iPhone and iPad.

With the notion that “your choices will decide Clementine’s fate in the gripping conclusion of The Walking Dead: Season Two,” as described in the Youtube trailer’s description, could we actually see a major branch in narratives going forward beyond The Walking Dead Season 2? Or does it mean that Telltale might say goodbye to the series after next week? We’ll just have to wait and find out once the time comes, with the GameSided review of the final episode coming August 27th. We’ll also have a full season review on the site hopefully within the week.
