Resident Evil Revelations 2 Images Appear On Xbox Website
While officially this reveal should be regarded as a rumor, as it has not been officially announced by neither Capcom nor Microsoft, but it appears as though Resident Evil Revelations 2 is a real game that is currently in development. The above image of what looks to be an abandoned jail, as well as the Xbox 360 box art titled “Biohazard Revelations 2” (Biohazard being the name of the series in Japan), have been linked here and here on Xbox.com image servers. The images were initially found by Gamer in a Box, then spotted by NeoGAF user Muzzy, with Jawmuncher creating the thread. Additionally, another user named Takao found the files on the actual xbox.com website.
More from Microsoft
- Killer Instinct: Season 3 Release Date Is Set
- Ori And The Blind Forest Definitive Edition Adds Depth, Beauty
- Xbox Live: Games With Gold March 2016
- New Xbox One, App February Updates On The Way
- Rocket League Heads To Xbox One Next Week
With that in mind, it’s safe to assume that we can expect a Resident Evil 2 Revelations game announcement to be coming in the future. Again, because Capcom hasn’t made an announcement about the game, we cannot assume such a project would be a Microsoft exclusive at this time, nor can we assume that the game will be coming to any console or gaming platform besides the Xbox 360. However, seeing how the original Revelations game involved a lot more of the game mechanics and emphasis on survival horror than recent mainline entries, the prospect of a sequel is quite exciting.
If more news comes from an official source within the month, it would be the second Resident Evil project announced in August. Earlier, the original Resident Evil remaster for the Nintendo Gamecube was announced to receive an HD upgrade, heading to the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime in Early 2015.
We’ll be on the lookout for an official Resident Evil Revelations 2 reveal and keep you up to date as soon as possible.
