Battlefield Hardline Delayed Until Early 2015
In a move that is quite shocking, but also serves as a relief for the wallets of gamers around the world, EA has announced that the Battlefield Hardline release date will be pushed back until early 2015. The development team notes that the feedback received from the beta released during E3 2014 led to some creative exploration into new gameplay possibilities, but needs the time to help put them into the game.

“We are doing all of this for one reason,” DICE General Manager Karl-Magnus Troedsson explains. “Because we want Battlefield Hardline to be the best game it can be, and so that we can create the best environment for a smooth launch for our players. We will give you updates on our progress and we’ll regularly share updates along the way via Battlefield.com/Hardline as well as the Battlefield social channels.”
I personally agree with the move. Not only because it means one less game being released to the public during the terrible anti-CoD-competing month of October game releases, but because Battlefield Hardline has to be near perfect at launch. Even though the game has been in development for quite some time, the public expectations for the game are so high due to the absolute horror show that was the Battlefield 4 launch. DICE is not Visceral Games, but both developers are under the EA Games publisher wing, and that comes with the negative PR connotations surrounding their policies, as well.
Battlefield Hardline will launch in early 2015 for the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. Hopefully, the added time to develop the game will actually help improve the single player campaign as well, in addition to improving the multiplayer stability.
