facebooktwitterreddit

Day 2 of Evo 2014 has already begun, but a lot of talk surrounding the event is the early Ultra Street Fighter IV departures. Daigo, Tokido, Xian, Infiltration and K-brad have all been eliminated, as the old guard makes way for the new guard in the new world that the recent update to Street Fighter has provided us.

For those who are not in the know, Evo is a massive gathering of FGC members from around the world, competing in several fighting video games that a majority see use the double elimination tournament structure (two losses and you’re out). Evo 2014 continues tournament action with Day 2, and will run through this weekend all the way to end of the final event on Sunday, July 13th (beginning at roughly 6 PM PDT). Here are this year’s remaining events, in no particular order:

  • Super Smash Bros. Melee
  • Ultra Street Fighter IV
  • Injustice: Gods Among Us (Finals today)
  • Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3
  • Killer Instinct
  • King of Fighters XIII (Finals today)
  • BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma

For more information about the schedule of events for Evo 2014, look no further than below:

Some of the things to check out on Evo 2014 Day 2 are definitely the Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 pools and the Injustice: Gods Among Us finals. Even though Injustice tends to not be well received within the FGC, its top-level play allows skilled players opportunities to make real explosive actions and unreal combos. The unfamiliarity factor can prove to show something you may not have seen before.
