E3 2014: Splatoon Announced For Wii U, Features 4 v 4 Matches
Splatoon has been announced by Nintendo during their Digital Event earlier today, and boy does it look to inject a dose of color into the third-person action shooting genre.

The name of the game is ink dominance in Splatoon, as you and three other players can team up online in 4 vs. 4 matches in which you must douse the entire map with as much ink as possible. As you spray ink, you unlock super weapons to improve your odds. Strategy seems to be key, as you can defeat your enemies to bring balance of power. However, you can lose more of your turf if you go after opponents instead of doing your own thing.
Splatoon looks to launch exclusively for the Nintendo Wii U in the first half of 2015. It will be fun to see how the use of the GamePad controller can use gyroscopic controls to take aim, as that seems to be a key with many Nintendo games announced today.
