E3 2014: Devil’s Third Is Now A Wii U Exclusive
By Erik Sugay
I’m not sure why Nintendo decided not to announce this during its main digital conference this morning, but Devil’s Third is now a Wii U exclusive. The game was once thought of as vaporware, but creator Tomonobu Itagaki appeared on IGN for the surprise announcement.

Valhalla Game Studios had been working on the game for years, but when its publisher, THQ, unfortunately closed, the game was left in a nebulous position. Fortunately, Itagaki found help in Nintendo. They “really understood my vision,” Itagaki told IGN, “so I felt I really had to work with them.”
Similar to Nintendo teaming with Platinum Games to publish Bayonetta 2, Devil’s Third provides another surprise pickup for the Big N. With its focus on action, melee combat and shooting, it gives the Wii U some much needed diversity.
