Furthermore, the game’s creative director took to the stage to beat himself in a DDR-esque competition, all while blasting out to a dance remix of “Eye of the Tiger.” The rate he was going at seemed to be near 500 calories per hour, which is pretty good for a very wiry man. Afterwards, a team member from both Ubisoft and Ubisoft San Francisco faced off in a pushup competition.
While it seems funny to demo people doing athletic events, and may be seemingly shallow in actual gameplay, anything to get people moving should be considered a bonus. A great number of the gaming community could stand to lose a few pounds (myself included), so if they can make it fun and get people moving, I’m all for it.
Shape Up will be an Xbox One exclusive, and will incorporate the power of the Kinect. We’ll have a trailer up as soon as possible.
