You know when a great time to run a sale on a hockey game would be? Right after a thrilling Game 7 of one conference final sets up a Stanley Cup showdown between teams in the two largest cities in the U.S.

Hey, that actually just happened! And by sheer coincidence (or more likely, not) OOTP Developments has announced that its ambitious hockey sim, Franchise Hockey Manager, is now 50 percent off on Steam.

Not only is the timing right from a real life hockey perspective, but the game just went through its latest update a few days ago on May 30. Version 1.6.19 is out now with bug fixes to contracts and rosters, ratings and development, the news and history screens, gameplay and the UI. You can see the whole list of fixes here.

OOTP 15 received an update of its own in May, and iOOTP 2014 has a new version currently going through Apple’s review process. But baseball can wait, because it has all summer. Hockey has just one series left, and Franchise Hockey Manager is only $19.99 through June 6. Skate on over and grab it this week, and go Kings! Or Rangers!
