WarioWare’s Ashley Confirmed As Super Smash Bros Assist Trophy

facebooktwitterreddit

It’s not a new playable character, but it sure seems like there has been a lot of Super Smash Bros Wii U/3DS news coming out lately! Straight from the game director Masahiro Sakurai’s Miiverse page comes the reveal that Ashley, from the WarioWare microgame collection series, will be coming to the upcoming Super Smash Bros game as an assist trophy.

Interestingly enough, the witch-trainee Ashley was confirmed for the game while there has been no mention of Wario joining the Super Smash Bros Wii U or 3DS cast. If precedents are to be followed, it may be all but a confirmation that Wario will eventually see his way to the party game, as Super Smash Bros Brawl saw WarioWare assist trophies in Kat and Ana.

Outside of Skull Kid from Majora’s Mask and (possibly) Phantom Armor, there is little known about the upcoming Super Smash Bros Wii U/3DS assist trophy list. With all the focus on playable characters recently, could the players-as-items commodity be on the rise?
