Tigers vs Athletics: Game 2
Prince Fielder and Omar Infante were outstanding for the Tigers, combining to go 6-7, 2 RBI, 3 walks and 3 runs. Torii Hunter also kept pace with his younger counterparts, going 2-5 with 3 runs, 2 RBI and a home run. Justin Verlander also continued to pitch well as he did last postseason, going 6.1 innings and gave up 3 ER over 8 hits, 3 walks and 10 K’s. At least the strikeout pitch is back.
In a sentence I’d never think I would write down, Brandon Moss had a triple in this game, going 2-4 with a run. Jed Lowrie has yet to get even a lousy hit this series, going 0-5 with 2 K’s. Sonny Gray had a rough start to his postseason career, going 4.1 innings and gave up 6 runs (3 earned) over 6 hits, 3 walks and 5 K’s.
