Best RPG – Dark Souls
Known for its cruel difficulty and its mysterious lore, Dark Souls is a throwback to when video games were actually difficult. For the most part, it is an open world dungeon exploration game that starts you off with a 30 minute tutorial level and then proceeds to throw you into the deep end. From there, you must find out for yourself where to go, what to do and how to better equip and prepare yourself for battle in the conquest of defeating Gwyn, Lord of Cinder.
What puts this game above the rest of the PS3 collection is its intuitive multiplayer. Multiple in-game factions allow you to interact with other online players. You can invade/be invaded by assailants hunting you for your souls, you can help other players defeat area bosses to attain experience and so much more. With death being second nature, it’s all about making mistakes and learning from them in order to ultimately conquer your foes.
