Crytek Undergoing Massive Structural Changes

Following the story on Deep Silver acquiring the Homefront IP from Crytek for their own development in a new studio, news comes of a statement from Crytek detailing major changes with the company.

Firstly, in accordance with UK law, all staff from Crytek UK will transfer to Deep Silver to continue work. Also Crytek’s American presence is being massively scaled back to the point where it will now only offer support for North American CryEngine licenses. Employees who are not on the support team will be able to apply to Crytek Frankfurt, where the studio is moving development of it’s upcoming game Hunt: Horrors of the Guilded Age.

Crytek CEO Cervat Yerli sent this statement in an email:

"“We would like to thank all our staff – past and present – in both Nottingham and Austin for their contributions to the company, and we wish all the very best to anyone who may no longer be under the Crytek banner moving forward,”"

Crytek also has studios in Budapest, Istanbul, Kiev, and Sofia, those will continue operating as usual. It also has studios in Shanghai and Seoul that are now under review for “closer collaboration.” are now under review for “closer collaboration.”
