Best Nintendo Games List – #1 Super Smash Bros. for Wii U / 3DS

Developers: Sora Ltd., Bandai Namco Games

Publisher: Nintendo

Platforms: Nintendo Wii U, 3DS

Release Date: October 3, 2014 (3DS), November 21, 2014 (Wii U)

All you need to do is look at the above photo to realize just how impressive a feat Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and 3DS is. Not only have Nintendo managed to wrangle as many characters as possible into one package, but have continued to add on stages, characters, costumes, and extra features slowly, but surely after launch. Players have unmistakably large quantities of choices when it comes to controller, platform, character, style of gameplay, modes, items, stages and customization options at hand, including the debut of the amiibo figurine.

Masahiro Sakurai put his heart and soul into this game, bringing a base game packed with more content than a $60 game should. The ongoing support continues to drive its success and is starting to grow its own identity as a casual and competitive fighting game. The option to play both on the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U gives it a cross-platform appeal that means keeping the fun going while on the move. The wants and needs of classic and contemporary fans are both met, creating a wonderful masterpiece befitting of an excellent Nintendo game.

That’s our list of the Best Nintendo games, as of November 16. Remember that we will be adding and removing titles periodically as we play additional Nintendo 3DS and Wii U games upon their release. Remember that multiple groups of people will come to several markedly different conclusions about what makes a game one of the best Nintendo games, and that this list is a constant work in progress.
