Pros are calling Madden 25's pump fake glitch one of the worst in history
By Brian Allen
Madden's Championship Series is supposed to highlight the best players in the world, using the highest-level strategies. Instead, it's turning into a showcase for the most broken glitches in a game struggling to retain its playerbase.
In August, we told you about the QB rollout glitch. But this past weekend's MCS games revealed a glitch that makes that look fair and balanced. I'll tell you how to run it and how to stop it, as best I can.
You'll need to do a slow pump fake (tap the WR icon twice) to a wide receiver running deep. Defenders in deep blue zones will dumb out and start running in, leaving the WR you faked to wide open. As I mentioned, this needs to be a slow fake with a slight pause between the two presses. You'll need to practice this. Once you've got it down, it's a one-play TD against any zone coverage in the game
Pwny Montana calls this one of the most broken things he has ever seen in his Madden career, and I'm inclined to agree. Why do we show things like this? In Pwny's case, he's spreading the word because the more noise EA hears about this, the quicker it will hopefully be patched.
I'm letting you know because I cover Madden NFL news, and this most certainly qualifies. The route stem glitch was news, as was the QB rollout glitch, and EA's response to both.
I also promised I'd tell you how to stop this one. The glitch ruins zone coverage, so you want to be in man coverage against this. For example, in Cover 2 Man the safety will still bite on the fake, but the man defender will ignore it and hopefully break up the one-play TD attempt.
Obviously, the best thing is for EA to patch this as soon as possible. We'll keep you posted.
