Sony PlayStation services restored, all is right with the world
By Brian Allen
Our long national nightmare has ended, Sony PlayStation services are back working properly after an outage last night/this morning. The outage lasted around eight hours. Players reported difficulty signing in, playing any multiplayer games, or any single player games that require an online connection. That's a surprising amount, unfortunately.
The outage came the same day as a lengthy Verizon service interruption, leading to a day that probably had a lot of folks contemplating living off the grid. As a technology writer, I can confirm that at different points during the day I love or hate the machines that in theory make my life easier.
My wife actually asked me what I was doing in bed so early. Hey, September is a big time for the sports games, y'all. Many players were ready to dive deep in their NHL 25 early access but couldn't. If you're playing a sports game that doesn't require an online connection, it's likely a retro title.
Sony has been having some problems lately, including a recent update that messed up the dashboard with outdated and intrusive ads. But now that our consoles are back functioning, what should we be doing with them?
You have only a few hours to download September's PS Plus games if you haven't already. There's a lot for sports games as both MLB The Show 24 and Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions were available. The Harry Potter game brings the wizard-like soccer game to our consoles. Also included was the horror hit Little Nightmares 2.
