MLB The Show 24 Ratings Predictions: 5 Best NL East Players
MLB The Show 24 Ratings Predictions are coming in thick and fast as players prepare for the next entry in the popular baseball franchise.
Part of the excitement each year building up to release is theorizing who will be upgraded (and even downgraded) ahead of the next MLB season. For Diamond Dynasty fans, it's even more important because it'll give those an idea of who should be the most expensive players in the game at launch. In recent history, that's been Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. After an exciting 2023 season, there will be changes all over the shop that will have impacts on how players prioritize completing Collections.
Or, more simply, casual fans just want to know if their favorite player in real life will be given the respect they feel they deserve in the video game world. That being said, here are our predictions for the five highest rated players in the NL East for MLB The Show 24.
MLB The Show 24 Ratings Predictions: 5 Best NL East Players
5. Spencer Strider - SP / Atlanta Braves
Spencer took a massive leap forward in his second full season at the major league level. After posting an 11-5 record with a 2.67 ERA in 2022, Strider finished with 20 wins and five losses earning his first-ever All-Star appearance. He also finished fourth in Cy Young voting losing out to Blake Snell of the San Diego Padres. Though, for those who still value wins as an important statistic for pitchers, Strider bested him by six. The closest to Strider was Arizona Diamondbacks' Zac Gallen at 17. Strider should be one of the best pitchers in MLB The Show at launch, and easily the highest rated pitcher in the NL East.
4. Bryce Harper - 1B / Philadelphia Phillies
Harper has been a superstar in MLB for what now feels like forever. His 2023 season was derailed a bit by recovering from Tommy John surgery, though he still earned his third Silver Slugger award and finished 12th in MVP voting posting a .900 OPS. Harper does face some competition from his own teammates for being the highest rated Phillie in the game, though his resume speaks for itself.
3. Matt Olson - 1B / Atlanta Braves
When Matt Olson came to Atlanta, many were still mourning Freddie Freeman going to the Los Angeles Dodgers. Though, after two seasons, most if not all are delighted with what Olson has brought to the team. Posting a 7.4 WAR, leading the NL in home runs, RBIs, and Slugging Percentage, Olson played in all 162 games for the Braves in back-to-back seasons. He was an All-Star, Silver Slugger, and finished fourth in MVP voting. He will be the highest rated first baseman in the NL East, possibly even the highest rated in other larger league metrics. Though, being the highest overall Braves player will be difficult considering another entry on our list.
2. Kodai Senga - SP / New York Mets
2023 was a season to forget in many aspects for the New York Mets and their fans. After it was clear Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander weren't going to be the answer atop the rotation to make a deep playoff run, both were sent to the AL West which helped the Mets quickly rebuild its farm system. Though, one of the shining stars of the season was Japanese pitcher Kodai Senga. Senga posted 12 wins, a 2.98 ERA and 202 strikeouts in his debut MLB season. Not to mention, he was also an All-Star and NL Rookie of the Year runner-up to Corbin Carroll. Senga returns for this second season in the orange and blue and he should be the highest rated Met at launch.
1. Ronald Acuna Jr. - RF / Atlanta Braves
What is there to say about Ronald Acuna Jr. that hasn't already been said? The inaugural founder of the 40/70 Club won his first NL MVP award this past season, though the Braves fell short in the postseason once again to the Philadelphia Phillies. Acuna Jr. has been an All-Star in four of his six seasons at the MLB level, he's a three time Silver Slugger, and the face of the Atlanta Braves franchise. At just 26-years-old, Acuna Jr. should be the highest rated player not only on the Braves, but in the NL East as a whole. He might even end up the highest player in the entire National League...
Diamond Dynasty Ratings Predictions
- Ronald Acuna Jr. - 93
- Kodai Senga - 87
- Matt Olson - 89
- Bryce Harper - 88
- Spencer Strider - 88
